About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

My residence permit expires on 2/20/17 but I want to travel to Seoul

will I be allowed re entry on 2/1/17 even though my permit expires in 19 days?

I think you may still be allowed to re-enter on 2/1/17.

You going to return to china for one day on the 17th then yes. BUT you can't overstay.
Go apply for a new visa or extension and sort out your flights back out of china
