Ricardo, you can take the airport shuttle bus to get to the ancient town directly; the bus fare is CNY25 and the duration is less than 1h. Then, you may walk to your hotel and get some rest.There are direct sightseeing buses from the ancient town to Lijiang and it takes around 3h on the way. The bus fare is CNY60~70 per person.

I read that there is a bus no. 7 from Dali airport to Xiaguan? And from there take bus 4 or 8 to the Old Town? How long does this whole journey take? I reckon 2 hours? Do you recommend just a direct taxi to the Old Town from airport which I think it's about RMB100?
