About:China Visa

I have a UK technician going to work on a cruise ship in Feb, embarking in Shanghai,

visiting ports will be: Nagasaki, Busan, Fukuoka, disembarking in Shanghai. Although he will not be getting off the ship at all during the cruise. What sort of Visa will he require? Do you know how long it takes to issue it? Any advice would be great.

Julia, when you first enter Shanghai, if you stay there for not more than 144 hours, namely, your travel route is like UK-Shanghai-Japan, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit there. No visa will be needed then. The case is the same when you enter Shanghai for the second time, namely traveling like Japan-Shanghai (within 144 hours)-UK.
