I am flying from Vladivostok, Russia from the United States via beijing on both to and return.

May I use the 72 hour free stay both times? Or is there a limit t the number of visa free stays per year?

Liesel, as long as your transit in Beijing for not more than 72 hours, you are able to enjoy the 72 hour free transit on both ways. There is no limit on how many times you can use the free transit per year.
