About:Shantou Transportation

Hi, we want to travel from Hong Kong to Shantou/Jieyang/ Chaozhou area to visit family.

What is the fastest way with the least transfer? I have read several pages now and they all have different starting train station and different destination station- it is all starting to get confusing.

Also which station in the Shenzhen area is the most 'traveller friendly"? They look like I need to get off the connection from Hong Kong and then go to another station/port?

Any help is appreciated. We are all travelling from Australia/ USA so do not konw how these systems work in China. Thank you.

Amy, you are suggested to take a high speed train from Shenzhen North Railway Station to Chaoshan Railway Station. Then take a taxi to your destination.
There are shuttle buses from many districts in HK to Shenzhen North Railway Station. It is suggested you give me your specific location, and I can find the nearest boarding point for you.
Shenzhen North Railway Station has English signposts. Don't worry.

Thank you. We will likely be staying in the MongKok area. What are all the possible ways of transport to get to Shenzhen North station, how long does each option take, and what is the cost?

You can take the shuttle bus opposite the Exit D of Prince Edwards Metro Station. It costs HKD80 and takes around 2h.
