About:Haikou Meilan Airport

Is there a bullet train from Haikou airport to Sanya?

How much is the ticket? How frequent the trip? Any return from Sanya? Can i book good hotels in the two cities when I reach there? Can you recommend good hotels from the rates from CNY 150 to 250 per day?
If i travel from Malaysia to Haikou and return via Guangzhou, do i need to check out my luggage at Guangzhou or the luggage will be transited from Guangzhou directly? Please answer before I travel. Thanks!

Well, the bullet trains for the route exist. It takes 1.5-2 hours and the fare is CNY100 for a second class seat and CNY160 for a first class seat. More than 20 trains are scheduled in a day and trains for return trip are also available.

Hotels are in great quantity in the two cities, so it is fine to check in one after arriving. For budget hotel or chain hotels, CNY150-250 can be enough for fine accommodation.

As I know, you need to collect and reclaim your luggage at Guangzhou. For more details, you'd better confirm with your airlines in advance.

Have a good trip!

1.Yes, upon landing, you can take the direct bullet train from the airport to Sanya. The trip takes nearly 2 hours. The ticket fare of second class seat is CNY 79.5 and first class seat is CNY 94.5. And you can bring the luggage on the train. Generally speaking, there will have enough space to put the luggage. Don’t worry.
2.In Haikou:
Exchange Bank Hotel: No.2-6, South Zhongshan Road, Qiongshan District
Jinyuan Business Hotel: No.1, Daying Street, East Haixiu Road, Meilan District
Blue-sea Sunny Hotel: 1, No.96, Nanhai Avenue, Longhua District

Thanks for your detail replies, Dianna.

On question 7, i referred to March 1 to March 10, 2017? Is the weather then good to visit Hainan Island? By the way, can i get the bullet train from Haikou to Sanya on the date of arrival rather than booking through the net because as foreigner, you can not online booking? Also, understood from the net that it as not advisable to purchase the bullet tickets during the arrival date because it may be sold out. Hence, is it peak session during 1 Mar to 10 Mar?

Meantime, are the hotels recommended by yourself near to city centers and also easy to access bullet train stations?

Your replies are again very much appreciated!

Thanks and regards,
Steven

The temperature in March usually ranges from 60F to 80F. It is very comfortable.
The peak season of Haikou is from October to next March, so it is advised you book the train tickets in advance just in case. I personally suggest you seek help from TravelChinaGuide via bookingtravelchinaguide.com to make the reservation. I did that once and it is helpful. You may try.
Hotels I recommended are all in the city centers. It is very convenient to take a taxi from these hotels to the train stations.

Thanks for your replies, Diana.

You mentioned that the bullet train can be taken from Haikou International Airport. But, when i search its schedule, i have to go to either East Railway Link or Main Railway station which is out from airport to take the bullet train to Sanya. I dont see any Meilan Airport Railway station for bullet train. In addition, I saw the first class or second class seat may not have space to put my big luggage because I travel from overseas. Please confirm and thanks.
