About:China Visa

An urgent situation for a canadian to get exit visa with a new passport issued in shanghai

The situation is:
Canadian with a valid Chinese visa for a four months study in Chinese University but found issue with her passport. Had to cancel flight and obtain a new Canadian passport. How to obtain some short term visa for this new passport to be able to exit quickly as the flight has been re-booked.

Applying a full visa will take a lot more time. The rebooked flight will not have time for it.

Any help is appreciated. In desperate need of options. Thank you very much

After you get the new passport, you can go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to apply for the exit visa. It may take 5 working days, but the time may be different on a case-to-case basis.

Thank you so much for your quick and kind response. She is waiting on the new passport after handled in all required document and application but unfortunately has to wait for longer due to long weekend. She went to the office of Exit and Entrance administration in the mean to prepare for her visa once get the new temporary passport.

But she was told to get new document for a new X2 visa as her original is. She will need to register to policy and so on as a normal X2 visa case. That will take lots of extra time while her flight has been rebooked to Jan 5th. She actually would be late already with her Jan 3rd start date for her next term here.

Is it possible to have a quick exit visa without going through the whole process of X2 visa because her study at Suzhou university has been completed? She can not go back to them to ask for another set of official document from the university which is not applicable anymore without consider the extra time will take. Thank you for your kind help again.

Paula, you should tell the officer that her study has been completed, so it's not necessary to apply for another X2 type. She just wants a humanitarian visa with a stay duration of 30 days.
