About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Do i need a visa for transferring through beijing?

Hi, I have a norwegian passport and I'm going to Beijing in january to transfer to a new flight to New Zealand, the same day (7 hours later). But, I have bought seperated tickets so it's not a connecting flight, which means I need to get my luggage to probably check in again. Which leads to my question - do I need to get a visa for my time at the airport transferring to another flight? considering i (think) i have to check in again with my luggage for the next flight at the airport...
Or is it enough to show my travelling documents/ticket for my flight to New Zealand?
Since I won't be leaving the airport, just going to get my luggage....

Because I read from this site that some nationalities don't need a visa for that, but does that include my nationality too?

Julie, as you only have a 7-hour layover in China, you don't need the transit G type permit. Seperate tickets can be used as your onward transportation arrangement.
