We arrive by air from the UK on 23 Jan and have a hotel booked until we leave by cruise ship on 26th

We are both UK citizens and hold UK passports. The next port of call is in Japan

Malcolm, where will you arrive from the UK? If it's Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang, or Jiangsu, you are eligible for the 144-hour free transit policy.

Thank you. We arrive in Shanghai. Looking forward to our holiday there. This visa question has driven me demented as no one wants to give an absolute answer. We contacted both Celebrity and Virgin and got non commital responses. We will follow your advice as it corresponds with our thoughts. Regards, Malcolm
