About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I have a flight booked from Shanghai to Toronto with a stopover in Beijing.

I was wondering if i can get a 72 hour visa free entry when i come from the Philippines to Shanghai or can i skip the first flight and fly to Beijing, then Beijing to Toronto

Chad, if you take a direct flight from the Philippines to Beijing and then leave Beijing to Toronto, you can use the 72h free transit policy in Beijing. If you use the flight you have booked, you can enjoy only a 24-hour free stay in China.
