About:Beijing Capital Airport T3

Transfer at Capital Airport.

I am coming from Los Angeles and going to Bangkok. Both flights operated by Air China. Do I need to pick up baggage between flights?

No, you don't need to reclaim the luggage. It is international to international transfer both in T3.
By the way, the correct transfer procedures are the following:
Flight Arrival-Transfer Procedures-Stamped on the Boarding Pass-Security Check-Custom Inspection-Waiting & Boarding
