About:Visa Application for Children Born in US with Chinese Parents

American born in China

I live and work in China and me and my wife have had our child here. She has her american passport and we wish to visit america. We both have skilled workers visa for China and we were wondering if we take her to the US if she will need a visa to come back to China and if so what kind of timeframe would we need to be prepared to wait? Cheers

Dear, may I know what visa she is holding now? If your child has an S1 type and residence permit in China, after she goes back to US, she can come back to China and stay with you. She doesn’t need to get new visa.

If so, you can apply for an S1 type for her now, and then she can get a temporary residence permit in China. The residence permit can allow her to exit and enter China for multiple times within its validity.
