Applying China business visa for French citizen

Hi,

I hold French citizenship and I want to go to China on the week of 16th January. I live in Geneva (Switzerland), but I work in Netherlands.
1) Can I apply to a Business M type from Geneva although I work in the Netherlands?
2) If I apply it, do I need to leave my passport to the China embassy in Switzerland/the Netherlands?

Thanks & Regards
Ludovic

Ludovic, yes, you can apply from Geneva.
If you apply for it from Switzerland, you should submit the passport the Chinese embassy in Switzerland.
