Applying for Q1 Visa in China

Hello,
I am a Canadian citizen currently living in China with my wife on a 6 month residence permit. I want to change my Visa to Q1. Is it possible to apply for a Q1 while in China or do I need to return home (Canada) to apply for one?

Bryn, yes, it is possible for you to change the current visa to Q1 type. You can have a try!
If it cannot be done, you can go back to Canada to apply for the Q1 type.
