Indonesian passport transit in Xiamen

Hi,

We are holding Indonesian passport travelling to Vancouver and we will transit in Xiamen for 8 hours on the way to Vancouver and 17 hours on the way back to our country. Do we need to apply for visa? If yes, what type do we need to apply (on arrival or pre-arranged)?

Thank you in advance for your help.
