About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We are British passport holders travelling on a cruise ship which enters Shanghai for one day

from South Korea and then going on to Hong Kong.
What are the visa requirements and how do we get them?

In principle, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai; no visa will be needed then. But just to play safe, you’d better confirm that with the cruise ship company.
