About:Beijing Subway

We are planning on traveling from Beijing South Station to airport (we have figured out our route).

This would be between 7am and 9am. Is this a silly idea at that time with luggage? When are the peak times? Or would a taxi be better?

The morning rush hours are from 07:00 to 09:00. It won't be convenient for you to take metros with luggage. But it's ok for you to take the direct shuttle bus. The operating hours are from 06:30 to 20:00. The ticket fare is CNY 24 per person.
Or you can take a taxi. Generally speaking, the cab fare is CNY 150-160 for the single trip.
