Transit and tourist visa for Hong Kong for India passport holder

I have an Indian passport and I live in USA. I am going from SFO to Malaysia and transiting via Hong Kong (layover is 10 hours). Do I need a transit permit to go out of airport and stay in a nearby hotel?
Also, while coming back from Malaysia, plan to stay 2 days in Hong Kong before going back to USA. So will I need a tourist entry permit for my stay in Hong Kong?

Sheena, no, you don’t need it in both directions because Indian passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of not exceeding 14 days.
