About:China Family Reunion Visa

Does my (Chinese) wife need to be in China to invite our son to visit her?

I am British. My wife is Chinese. Our four year-old son is British. Can we all go to the UK to apply for a Q2 visa (for my son and I), using my wife's invitation letter? Or does she need to be physically in China when we apply for it?

It's possible that you can apply for the S2 type when your wife is in UK. If it doesn't work, you may ask your wife's parents to write you the invitation letter.
