Student visa X-2 to Work Z type

Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to convert my X-2 student's type to a work permit? I am doing a short term Mandarin course here in Shanghai JiaoTong University and I would like to work here when the program finishes. I also already have a temporary residence permit.
