About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Changed onward destination

I am a British national currently in Shanghai under the 144 hours visa-free transit scheme. I arrived into Shanghai from Kuala Lumpur and at the time stated that my next destination on departure from Shanghai would be Hong Kong.

I am still leaving on the same day which is well, well within the 144 hour limit but with an enforced change of plans I am now flying to London rather than Hong Kong.
Does this matter please? Any advice most helpful.

Chris, there is no need to worry! You can still enjoy the 144 hour free transit if you will fly to London after transiting in Shanghai.
