You can call a taxi to show you around the city during the layover time. Or you may take subway or shuttle bus to downtown for some sightseeing. For your reference, you can take subway line 3 from the airport to Jiahewanggang station, then change to line 2 and get off at Yuexiu Park Station. Or you may take airport shuttle no. 1 to Aviation Ticket Office, then walk to visit the Yuexiu Park. After that, walk to visit the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and then go to Beijing Road to taste local snacks before going back to the airport.
