About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Sydney > Shanghai - 3 nights Shanghai - boarding ship to cruise to Hong Kong

If I am flying into Shanghai from Sydney and have 3 nights in Shanghai - then boarding a cruise ship from Shanghai to Hong Kong and on to Southhampton with a stop in Vietnam (with Visa) can I get the 144-hour free transit?
