About:Chinese Consulate in Edinburgh

Do we need a visa if we are joining a cruise ship in Shanghai and leaving it in Hong Kong?

We will spend 2 nights in Shanghai before joining Celebrity ship. Cruise goes from Shanghai to Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam and concludes in Hong Kong. One day in Hong Kong before flying home on second day.

Well, if you fly to Shanghai from a country other than Japan and you stop stop over other China cities, you will qualify for the 144h free transit policy in Shanghai.
