About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

What are the list of documents I need to bring to apply for Visa to enter china from us?

So it states on the website that I need to fill out the application, have my passport, and what else when they mean supporting documents? Is the invitation from the chinese citizen that we are visiting supposed to be turned in with the application. This website doesn't talk about a written invitation, but other websites do.

If you want to apply for a tourist L visa, aside from the passport and its copy, application form, a passport-style photo, you also need to provide hotel booking record and round trip air tickets, or an invitation letter. If you have the invitation letter, you need to submit it to the consulate general, and then flight tickets and hotel reservation won’t be needed.
