About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

separate ticket

I want to make a trip HCMC to Shanghai.
if i take separate tickets and make a stop within the day in Taipei before reaching Shanghai would it be good ?
For eg : HCMC - Taipei Day 1 , then Taipei - Shanghai Day 1 , return Shanghai - HCMC

Yes, Romain, if you are Vietnam citizen and the layover in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you don't need the transit permit.

I am french, working in Vietnam.
if I start from Hcmc Day 1, and first fly to Taipei (day 1), then take a flight to shanghai same day, and go back to Hcmc day 3 can i be eligible for the 72 Hours free transit ?

Yes, you will be eligible for the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai if you travel like that.
