Airline employee on trip to shanghai

I work for an airline company in the US. I am going to China for 5 days next month on my airline company. If I understand it right, I have to get a visa once I arrive in PVG since I have a US passport?

If you go to PRC for tourism purpose, you need to apply for a tourist L type entry permit in advance, I’m afraid you cannot get it upon arrival in PVG.
