About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I leave from Newark to travel to India for a week.

Next I will go to Beijing for 72 hours then back to Newark. Can I, a U.S. citizen, get my 72 hour visa when I arrive in Beijing? The Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C. does not know the answer to this question.
