About:China Transit Visa

I am from Malaysia and flying to San francisco but transit at Shanghai Pudong. Do I need a visa?

Previously I went to Xiamen for a transit to Korea but the immigration sent me back because I dont have an entry permit. Does that apply for shanghai as well?

Steven, if you hold Malaysia passport and your layover time in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. No entry permit will be needed then.
