If you go there for sightseeing activities, you need to apply for a tourist entry permit. You should first prepare the required documents including copy of your passport, the application form, a passport-style photo, proof of your financial support, and your travel itinerary, as well as hotel reservation and transportation arrangement.
And then submit the application to the embassy of PRC to apply for it.
As long as you prepare all the required documents, I don’t think it will be that difficult to apply for it.
