About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying to Shanghai from New Zealand to board a cruise ship

We are UK citizens who are cruising around New Zealand and then flying from New Zealand to Shanghai to board another cruise ship, staying in Shanghai for 2 nights, do we qualify for the 144 hour visa?
