American Passport holder going to Shanghai

I'm an American staying in the Philippines as a Balikbayan (1yr) , have a tour to Shanghai for 4day/3nights...how do I apply & what type of Visa do i need? thanks

Rose, if you travel like Philippines-Shanghai-HK/Macau-Philippines, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. In this case, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit.
