About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

American living in Seoul.

I have an American passport, living in South Korea for work. Can I fly from South Korea --> Beijing then take a train to Hong Kong and fly from Hong Kong to South Korea? Are trains part of this, or just flights?

Elizabeth, if you travel like that and stay in Shanghai for less than 144 hours, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit. The 144 hour free transit is also applicable to train travelers.
