About:China Private Visit Visa

Do S1 visa holders still need to go to Exit-Entry bureau even if they will just stay for 2 weeks?

They already have S1 type, but they will stay here in China for only 2 weeks. I wonder if they still need to apply for a residence permit or can just go the nearest police station and apply for the temporary residence permit

Ted, if they can apply for a temporary residence permit, they can use the residence permit to re-enter PRC in the future within its validity.. Of course, they can choose not to apply for it and if so, they can just enter PRC once by the S1 type and they also need to go to the police station to register.
