About:China Visa on Arrival

I'm going on a cruise from Hong Kong to Singapore with RCCL in November 2016.

We arrive at Sanya in the morning and leave the same day. I am a British passport holder. Do I require a Visa? If I do, where can I purchase it? Thank you.

Based on the exit and entry policy, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Sanya, and then no need to apply for an entry permit, but because you will enter and leave by the same cruise ship, you are advised to contact with the cruise ship company and confirm that.
