72 hour Visa in Bejing FAQ

We have a few days on our itinerary to visit the city. We are going from Bangkok to PEK for a few days and then fly to Hong Kong from PEK to connect to our return flight from from Hong Kong to LAX. But based on current flights, we may have to stay over 1 day in Hong Kong. Are we eligible for the free Visa pass in PEK?

Hello, your case is eligible for the 72h visa-free transit. For getting out of the airport, just apply for a transit permit at the immigration inspection. Present the permit and you will be allowed to tour in the city within the 72h layover. For longer stay, I'm afraid you have to hold a transit visa.
