About:China Visa

For leaving China and returning every 60 days, does travel to Hong Kong qualify as an exit/entry?

Let's say I have a 10-year multiple-entry tourist visa with China, and I need to leave China every 60 days and return, in order to maintain the entry permit. If I travel from the mainland to Hong Kong or Macau and then return to the mainland, does that satisfy the requirements for leaving China every 60 days?
