Shanghai 48 hour stay

I am flying from the uk via Dubai where I change planes in a 2 hour period to Shanghai . I am staying in Shangai for 2 nights before I get on a cruise ship never to return to China. Will I be able to do the 144 hours visa free transit.
thank you. Julie millington

Julie, if the cruise will go to a third country or region rather than Dubai after staying in Shanghai, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
