travelling during golden week

Question

Unfortunately I am part of a group that is visiting all the major cities and tourist sites during the first 12 days of October 2016. How busy are the sites such as the Great Wall, Terra-Cotta Warriors, and the Forbidden City? Are there specific times to travel that will help navigate the attractions.

Actually, it is not suggested to travel during Golden Week as lots of Chinese people go traveling during this period. Each site, especially the hot destinations will be very crowded, besides, the hotel rooms and all the tickets are in great demand. The transfer may take longer, which lead to shorter visiting time at each place and uncomfortable experience. If you have to do it during the holiday, I suggest you try to avoid the first two days or avoid some very hot places. Anyway, hope you enjoy your journey.
