Planning to go Yilan and Hualien on beginning of Jan. 17

Hi, i'm planning to visit taipei / new taipei and stop by yilan and hualien. understand that it's winter time.
is it suitable to go yilan and hualien during winter?

Yes, it will be a good time to pay a visit. It may be rainy then, and the temperature may range from 50F to 65F. It is cool. You may pack light jackets, light sweaters, shirts, pants, sneakers, and an umbrella. ;)
