About:Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica

Hello, I am planning to go to the Southeast of Asia

but the plane has a layover in the PRC (either Beijing or Shanghai). I´ve read there is a 72 or 144hr transit permit but not sure if this applies to Costaricans... Do I need a visa even if I am only for transit?
thank you!

Diana, as far as I know, the 72 hour/144 hour free transit is not applicable to Costa Ricans.
But if your total layover time in PRC is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. in this case, no entry permit is needed either.
But if you transit in PRC for more than 24 hours, a tourist L type or transit G type is required.
