About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Where can I apply for a Z visa?

I am an Australian living in the UK at the moment and relocating to China in November. I intend to go on a tourist entry permit while trialing and interviewing for jobs and then change to a Z type once I get a job. Does anyone know if I can apply from China for the Z type? Or do I have to go back to Aus to do so?

It is possible for you to convert a tourist L type to a work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB after you enter PRC. You can have a try.
But if it cannot be done, I’m afraid you need to go back to Australia to apply for it.

Thank you for your response!

What is the local PSB? And would 'having a try' lead to a great loss of time?

PSB refers to public security bureau. “Having a try” won’t waste a lot of time. You may need to wait for 7 working days and then you can know the result.
