malaysian citizen transits at peking airport for about 24 hours?

Question

I am a Malaysian citizen and i am transiting at Peking airport. My layover hour is 27 hours. My next flight is to Japan. Can i enter china for a day and return to airport before midnight?

James, as your layover time is longer than 24 hours, I'm afraid you need to apply for a transit G type entry permit in advance. Please contact the embassy or airline for double check. If they say you qualify for the 24h direct transit, then you don't need the G type and you are allowed to enter the city area by applying for a temporary stay permit at the airport immigration counter.
