About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am an Australian flying from Tel Aviv to Shanghai before taking another flight to Brisbane

My route from Shanghai to Brisbane is through Guangzhou (2 hour transit) however and I am wondering if am still eligible for the visa free entry? 72 hours or 144 hours?

Is your transit in China under 24h?
If so you can have 2 or more stops in China.

But the rules for the 72h/144h twov are clear.... just 1 stop.
