144 hr visa from Shanghai

If we are taking a cruise out of Shanghai on Sept 8 but arriving in Shanghai (PVG) on the 7th, does the 144 hr visa apply? Our return flight leaves PVG Setp 13 at 1820. The Cruise leaves from the Shanghai Port and goes to South Korea and Japan. We will be leaving China the same day the cruise returns to port.

Thank you
