i am in the same situation as gtm

Question

I live in Romania at the border with Hungary. Budapest is much closer than Bucharest. We don't need a visa for Hungary, we can just travel with our national ID. Are there options for foreign citizens to apply for Chinese visa in Hungary? I need the C type required for crew working on ships in China. Could you please advise?

According to the relevant requirements for people from third country applying in Hungary, you need to provide residence permit in Hungary if you want to apply visa for PRC from there. So I’m afraid it’s risky. Of course, you can go there for a try, and if it cannot work, you can go to the embassy of PRC in Romania and apply for it.
