About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I'm US citizen and going to Hong Kong for a visit, can I use 72 hour free transit

If I fly from Macau to Beijing and come back to Hong Kong will 72 hour transit visa accepted for my case ?

please advise if I go by this itinerary we will be OK under 72 hour free transit :

Macau - Beijing on 23rd November 15: 10
Beijing - Hong Kong on 26th November 09.05

Dave, if you travel like that, you qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing.
