Question about my japanese wife visa to china

My situation is abit different. Because I am a Hong Kong residence, but now working in China and going to start to live in China. But the problem is my wife is japanese and now doesn't have a visa so now she could only visit me for 15 days and go back Hong Kong in and out like that. So the question is with my Hong Kong status can she apply a visit family visa so she could stay longer. Or what is the best way to do so thanks!

Michael, you should have obtain a mainland work permit for yourself, and then you may use this plus your passport and HK ID card as the supporting documents for your wife to apply for a Q type. It's feasible in principle, but I'm not sure whether it can work in real practice.
