About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

I am planning to fly to Hong Kong from Toronto in late October.

Hi,
If I take the China Eastern airline, then the flight would stop at Shanghai Pudo airport for 2 hours as transit before next flight to Hong Kong.
My question is, I am holding a Canadian passport, do I need any China Visa or apply anything for the 2 hours transit in China?
Best Regards,
Pierre

Pierre, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit for 2-hour stopover in Shanghai because you qualify for the 24 hour direct transit there. Nice trip!

Hi,
The exemption applies when passenger's final destination is out of China, correct?
Hong Kong is a part of China now. As the final destination of the trip (2 hrs transit in Shanghai), in this case, could the exemption apply?
