Airline employee Using 144 hour visa free transit when you fly standby without seat assignment

I work for endeavor air part of delta airlines and have Id showing this. My wife and I are taking cruise ending in Shanghai. We will be there about 24 hours and leaving morning cruise arrive or next morning. We will have onward ticket which is standby. We will not have a seat assignment because we fly standby. Can I use the 144-hour-free transit.
